The Patient Assistance Fund by Psychological Insights (PAF) is a 501(c)(3) charitable business. The PAF was created by the owner of Psychological Insights with the help of other Therapists in the community. We believe that finances should never be a barrier to mental health services and that mental health professionals deserve a living wage for their expertise. The PAF is committed to bridging the gap between these two vital truths.
Our objectives are:
Financial Assistance: Provide funding to individuals needing mental health services who cannot afford their co-pays, deductibles, or cash-pay rates.
Support for Therapists: Establish a network of therapists willing to provide services at reduced fees and promote their practices.
Community Awareness: Increase awareness of mental health issues and the services available through our partnerships.

Financial Assistance: Provide funding to individuals needing mental health services who cannot afford their co-pays, deductibles, or cash-pay rates.
Support for Therapists: Establish a network of therapists willing to provide services at reduced fees and promote their practices.
Community Awareness: Increase awareness of mental health issues and the services available through our partnerships.
Donations over $5,000 will be featured prominently on our website and social media.
Recognition will include:
Name or Business Name (or “Anonymous” if desired)
Amount donated (or “Undisclosed if desired”)
Logo or photo
Link to your business website
Individual post on our Facebook page acknowledging your generous donation.
All donations will be recognized on our website and social media. Should you desire anonymity, we will only post the information you approve.
All donors will be added to our quarterly newsletter with the option to opt out.

Are you a therapist (individual or group practice) who would like to be included as a recipient of PAF for your clients? Please complete the contact form below and we will reach out to get you enrolled!
Please note: Your practice name, the name of the individual completing the form, and an email address are all that are required to submit this form. However, we will likely need the remaining information if you choose to move forward with becoming a PAF provider.

Absolutely! You have several options for donating:
1) To donate by check: make all checks payable to Psychological Insights and indicate in the memo “patient assistance fund”. Checks can be mailed to:

Join us in person at one of our scheduled events or stop by our office during business hours. Donations can be made via cash, check, or online.

100% of donations will go toward providing free and low-cost mental health services and marketing the PAF.
A yearly breakdown of donations and distribution of funds will be provided on our website.

Yes! The PAF is a tax exempt 501(c)(3) as of October 2024.

Make a Direct Donation
Online: Donate securely on our website.
By Check: Mail a check payable to Psychological Insights with "Patient Assistance Fund" in the memo line.
In-Person: Drop off a cash or check donation at our office.
Share on Social Media: Spread the word! Share our fundraisers, events, and donation links on social media to encourage your network to support affordable mental health care.
Sponsor an Event: Become an event sponsor and have your business, organization, or family recognized as a champion for mental health access. Sponsorships help cover event costs and raise additional funds.
Attend Fundraising Events: Join our community at events. By participating, you support the Patient Assistance Fund while enjoying prizes, activities, and networking.

To participate in the PAF, providers must meet the following criteria:
Be a therapist, psychologist, or counselor working in an individual or group private practice setting in Michigan.
Offer a sliding fee scale for clients and establish a contract for the use of the sliding fee scale.
Accept at least one type of Medicaid.
Submit requests for funds through our designated process.
Pay a monthly contribution of $5 per clinician in your practice.
The following are not requirements but suggestions in order to help the PAF succeed in its mission and help you get the most out of your participation with the PAF:
· Share our patient assistance fund website (psychological-insights.net/patient-assistance-fund) on your website, social media, or other marketing tools.
· Add information about applying for the PAF on your intake forms.

Only therapists and practices that have signed a contract with the PAF team and are up to date on their administrative contributions may request funds to cover their unpaid patient balances.

Are you a client/patient of a mental health provider and unable to afford all or some of your copay, deductible, coinsurance, or cash pay rate?
If your therapist is already enrolled in patient assistance fund, just ask them to apply for assistance on your behalf.
If your therapist is not already enrolled in the patient assistance fund, give them our website to enroll.
Please note that assistance is provided as funds are available.

Participating providers agree to contribute a monthly fee of $5 per clinician in their practice to cover administrative costs associated with the PAF. This contribution ensures that 100% of donated funds go directly to covering client costs and making sure you get paid for your services!
