As your psychological assessment evaluator…
I want to help you make sense of the ways you think, feel, and behave and make a plan for the future.
Sometimes, we feel like we’ve exhausted all avenues and still have no answers. Psychological assessments can help you better understand yourself and make the most of your treatment plan.
Most psychological assessments include a thorough intake to discuss your mental, physical, social, and developmental history. The assessment can take many forms—some even look like puzzles or playing games together.
When the results are in, we’ll discuss them, answer your questions, reveal any diagnosis (if there is one), and give you a plan for moving forward.
FAQs about Assessments/Testing
-
Psychological assessments help you understand patterns of thinking, learning, and behavior.
They may help determine eligibility for accommodations at school or work, clarify developmental or neurological disorders impacting your ability to function, provide medical providers the information to determine the appropriateness for surgery or medication, provide legal providers with clarification on mental states, and so much more.
-
During your initial session (60-90 minutes), we’ll conduct a thorough survey of your background and determine the appropriate assessment(s). Some assessments are administered in person; others can be done remotely, depending on the type.
After the initial appointment, assessments can include one to two appointments, 2-3 hours in length.
All assessments include a feedback session (40-60 minutes), during which you will receive your results and discuss next steps. Results can be sent to the people or organizations of your choice with a release of information.
-
You will be asked to complete an intake questionnaire. Parents or guardians can help children or teens.
I may request a release of information to discuss assessment results with third parties (e.g., a therapist, primary care physician, teacher, etc.).
We might also request additional documentation, depending on what is being assessed (e.g., report cards, teacher/employer comments, prior psychiatric hospitalizations, prior psychological assessments, legal documentation, etc.).

The cost of your assessment depends on the type of assessment you are requesting, the complexity of your case, and what insurance will cover.
In general, psychological assessments range from $500-$3000. We offer payment plans and sliding-scale fees for individuals paying cash. We never want finances to be a reason that someone does not receive services, so please reach out to see how we can help.
We also bill insurance. If you go through your insurance, your insurance decides how much services will cost. The amount you are responsible for is determined by your insurance plan (e.g., your deductible, copay, coinsurance, etc.).
